Privacy & collection statement

In short: when you fill in a form on our website, we use your details to reply to you, set up your event, or tell you when Wingmate is live in your area. We don’t sell your information. You can ask us what we hold, or ask us to delete it, at any time by emailing support@wingm8app.com.

1About this statement

This statement explains how Wingmate Corporation PTY LTD (“Wingmate”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and shares personal information you give us through the forms on wingm8app.com (our “website”): the Pre-Register, Register as an Event Host and Contact Us forms. It also acts as our collection notice at the point you submit those forms.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. For people in the United Kingdom, we also follow the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Separate terms and policies apply when you use the Wingmate app itself.

3What we collect and why

Register as an Event HostHost name, email address and date of birth; event name, date, start time, venue name and address, meeting instructions, short description and maximum attendees; your event photo preference; any comments; whether you will send a profile photo; and your confirmation that you accept the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. Photos you email us in reply.To assess and set up your event and host account, check that hosts are 18 or over, contact you about your event, and let you log in with your email address when Wingmate launches.

For every form we also record the date and time you submitted it, and we send you an automatic confirmation email.

Please don’t include sensitive information (such as health details) in comment boxes. If you do tell us something sensitive, we will only use it to respond to you.

If you choose not to give us the required details, we may not be able to reply to you, register you or set up your event.

4Launch updates and unsubscribing

By pre-registering you agree that we may email you about the launch of Wingmate in your area and related Wingmate news. You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to any email from us or emailing support@wingm8app.com. We will not sell your information or give it to other companies for their own marketing.

5Who we share information with

We use trusted service providers to run our website and handle form emails. They act on our behalf and only to provide those services:

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information. We may also disclose information where the law requires or allows it.

6Cookies and website data

We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies on our website. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as your IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. The embedded video uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, but YouTube may still collect information when you play it, under Google’s privacy policy.

7How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. For example: contact messages while we deal with your query; pre-registration details until our launch communications are finished or you ask us to stop; and event host details while you host with us. After that we delete or de-identify it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

8Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including restricting access to the inbox that receives form submissions. No method of sending information over the internet or by email is completely secure, so please share only what is needed.

9Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If you are in the United Kingdom you also have the right to ask us to restrict or object to our use of your information, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@wingm8app.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days, and may need to confirm who you are first.

Our legal basis (UK): consent for pre-registration and launch updates; taking steps at your request, and our legitimate interests in running the service safely, for event hosts; and our legitimate interests in answering enquiries for the Contact Us form.

10People under 18

Wingmate is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through our website. We ask event hosts for their date of birth to confirm they are 18 or over.
